Foundation's Edge was founded in 1987 as an off-shoot of the Second Foundation Bookstore in Chapel Hill. Over the last 10 years, we have tried to offer a broad mix of comics, games, science fiction and fantasy books, and related items. Every two years we've tried to expand our selection in current products, and find new and usually eclectic products to offer. Our staff has always been diverse and, as regulars know, opinionated.

At the Edge, we've tried to foster an atmosphere of discourse that hopefully rises above "who's stronger, Thor or Hulk?"  Well, sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don't, but we hope we will always serve our customers with good humor and a wide-ranging knowledge of our sales stock. At Foundation's Edge, we sell super-heroes and a whole lot more.

The Labor Day/Welcome Back to School sale is held usually the first or second week of September.

10,000 $.20 comic bonanzas are held twice yearly; summer and winter.
